With this kind of marketing approach any game could reintroduce a character who doesnt have a fully flushed and designated backstory. It doesnt change the character in any manner, it just seems like a desperate grasp to remain relevant because of the push for equality and inclusion. Making up a little story long after the games inception is why its pandering, just like Dumbledore. So unless there is love interests in a game then why say they are anything? It just seems especially forced in a game like overwatch that doesnt even have a playable story to get to know and develope a character. The sexual identity of someone is completely irrelevant unless they are having sex. The whole forced LGBT inclusion in media is just getting tiresome. I'm sure their heads would explode if they knew a chill guy for years IRL and out of the blue see him kiss a dude. A normal acting masculine male is gay? Nahhhhh, he is straight they just changed him to gay to pander.

There are gay guys in the army, professional sports, your work office, the gym, etc and you would never guess it either. Because every time a seemingly "straight" guy is outed as gay its immediately assumed he was changed to pander for SJW points. So when is it acceptable they are gay or to let it be known they are gay? Never? Thats how we have people thinking theres no such thing as "normal" masculine gay guys out there and everyone is a walking pride parade. Instead she did it after the books were finished and I guess everyone was pissed because people assumed he was straight because.reasons? Or maybe it just never needed to be said because gay people don't exist? In Dumbledore's case if she mentioned him being gay in the books people would say "why is this relevant to the story?" or "trying to corrupt childrens minds" etc. Eventually it turns out they are gay and suddenly its pandering or out of nowhere. So a character is built and established with no indication of sexuality. You don't want a gay character to be there for the sake of being gay or that to be their whole personality. I'll never understand the thought process some of you guys have.
